The finding common ground with people, the not fighting concept is one of the most valuable ways of living. Inside and outside of likeability. It’s just invaluable.
I’m going to have differences and differences of opinion with virtually everyone I ever meet. So why not look for our common grounds? It’s the only thing that’s going to make us like each other, get along with each other, so forget the differences! Absolutely incredible, and it works so easily. Fantastic.

Really suprised me. There is a guy at work who I thought I did not like, but when I found common ground (love of cars) with him, we were buddies.

Its amazing when common ground is found you can start to build a foundation for a relationship. And isn’t it all about relationships.

All i can say bob, is i kept my mouth shut. it wasn’t worth it, it was during a disagreement and things that were said to me i felt were wrong, but i know that i wasn’t going to change this persons mind. so i let them speak and ended the conversation. It takes too much energy to convince someone.

I can refer to 2 instances. The first, I did listen. I kept my mouth shut and the person snapped on me. The person literally attempted to coerce me into commenting. I simply responded, “I’m not afraid to respond. I believe you are entitled to your opinions and convictions.” I felt at peace at the end of the conversation. The second instance was great. I met a woman named Molly. We really bonded though we are from different ethnic/racial backgrounds and there is a generational gap. We both look forward to seeing each other again soon. Thanks, Bob!

I totally agree with you, Bob! I realize that the times that I was not genuine the people I was communicating with were kind of showing body language telling me that they will be interested when I will start behaving myself! Being genuine is a great principle of likeability, indeed! Thanks to point it out, Bob!
