The Sweetest Sound

micDo you know the sweetest sound in the world? It’s your name of course. Calling someone by their name is the quickest way to grab and hold their attention. It works with animals too.

What’s In A Name?

Back in the day when I was giving 150 speeches a year on customer service, someone recorded a presentation I gave on the subject of names. I think you will enjoy this little story about how the employees of a new restaurant in Marietta, Georgia used this technique to become an overnight success. You can do the same.

Cute story, BOB. I can just see your parents eating that up, too.

Food (or healthcare) is rarely THAT much better one place than elsewhere. You remember how you felt about the experience more than anything. And, of course, if you’re enjoying the experience, the food tastes better, too.

It was so enjoyable to listen to this talk! Great story. I hope you take this as the compliment it is meant to be…your voice, the phraseology and the timing reminded me of an Arlo Guthrie song!

Great story and reminder of how we should treat everyone, family, friends and clients alike. I lived in Atlanta–Powder Springs to be exact–and did see the Chicago Hot Dog Stand but never went inside. Looks like I missed out on a great experience! Will have to try it next time I go through ATL. Thanks for sharing the story!
